Hello, I am Grace Paszkiewicz. I live in Greendale, WI with my boyfriend and our snaggle-toothed cat, Pretzel. I love to watch movies, read books, ride my bike, and play Animal Crossing. Being an interior designer was not always my “dream job”. When I was a child, I wanted to be a park ranger. But, after taking a few classes featuring AutoCAD in middle and highschool, and then filling out a quiz on “Which Career is Right for You?” with interior design as my top answer, I took a leap and enrolled in a class at my local community college. After that, I found my passion.
I believe that interior design is fundamental to the way we live, work, and socialize. By building a healthy and motivating environment, we are able to accomplish our goals without distractions or hindrance. That is why I believe that we should always design with the goals of sustainability and safety, as well as inspiration and creativity.
I am recently a graduate from Milwaukee Area Technical College with an associate’s degree in Interior Design. While studying at MATC, I developed the technical skills necessary to become an interior designer. I discovered just how gratifying it is to work from brainstorming ideas to presenting your project to real-life professionals in the span of a few months. I went from not knowing much at all about the intricacies and importance of a well-designed space to being extremely eager to design my own.
I have also worked at Bob’s Discount Furniture as a sales associate for pretty much the same time as being in school. There, I learned many of the people skills that I use when helping a client. Learning patience, communication, and the ability to educate most of all has helped me understand the best way to approach a client. I want to make sure any customer I work with leaves knowing that they made the best decisions for their home and family.
